And...Still In Love

I am still on cloud 9! Every since we left for Hawaii and returned things have been great! We are so on a high. We really needed to get away and just reconnect. The funny thing is that I did not realize how disconnected we were! We have dated since 5th grade...yes I know! He is still the love of my life and I see us so very different after a the vacation of our lives. We talked and talked and focused on each other all day every day while we were away. It was nice waking up and watching him sleep so softly without having to rise to an alarm or children. We walked, talked, relaxed, ate dinner(without cutting up other people's food), and drove around without a purpose. It's still like a dream. So we had the most amazing vacation with each other and some awesome friends. God really works in a funny way. We got back from our trip with a marriage retreat weekend that dh purchased tickets for as a surprise to me. It was fabulous! This just added to the high! We learned just that much more about each other! It was good. The other awesome thing is that we saw a few other couples we knew and it was such a joy to know that other couples are focusing on their marriages as well. It is so hard to find the balance of life especially after kids come into the picture. We love our children don't get me wrong and they are the most important thing to us after each other. This was very hard for me to accept for many years after having children. My husband told me a few years ago that one of the most important gift we can give our children is a happy marriage. Life has it's ups and downs and we have had our share but when it's up it's UP and that is AWESOME!
